Big City Breakdown
a trip into the city at night.....and the trip back home again.

"Going into the studio this time, we had a lot of songs to choose from, but not a lot of time to record so we decided on an EP for this release." says Jewels. "We really wanted to craft these tracks and layer in a lot of guitar parts so we went for quality instead of quantity.I think it leaves you wanting more" continues Johnny. When producer Jim Watts came on board, the direction of the EP became clear very quickly - Watts was drawn to the more guitar driven, classic rock influenced material. Setting the twang aside for this one, Watts and the Fritters were able to hone in on a grittier, more bluesy tone. The name of the record came in an instant when they realized the common theme to these 5 songs - a release of familiar patterns, a return to Johnny's rock & roll roots, and an escape from the stress of city life. "Eventually, things have to break down to be built back up again, that's what these songs are about." says Jewels. Johnny Nation is able to flex his considerable guitar muscle on "Road Weary Troubadour" and "Eyes Wide Open" as well as revealing a bouncy, pop jangle on "Look Like Now". Christopher Hawley adds haunting and powerful slide guitar work on "Change My Fate" and "Build Me A Treehouse" and, as always, Jewels' warm vocals and harmonica add the heart and soul to the mix. David White and Stefano Ashbridge have evolved into a solid, rhythm section, keeping things moving with tight, driving beats.

City Fritter continues to play regular shows all over the Southland as well as touring northern California, Oregon, Utah, and Arizona. Future tour plans will take them back to the east coast and eventually Europe and the UK.
"Build Me A Treehouse" and "Change My Fate" are already receiving airplay on traditional and internet radio stations.
The band is currently pursuing an aggressive marketing campaign to reach the maximum number of potential fans, reviewers, music supervisors, and music programmers.

PEACE!
